Gimmick rallye in NCCC is sometimes known as a Scavenger Hunt Rallye in other motorsports sanctioning bodies. You will be given a set of directions along with a set of clues known as a rallye packet. As you drive the route, you put answers as to what you the clues are indicating about a Landmark, road sign, geographical feature, or other unique item.  At the end of the rallye, you turn in your packet.  The rallyemaster and/or designated volunteer will grade your responses.  The team with the highest score wins.

Car Show Mileage Records:   This can be waived by the head judge. As this is the first judged show of the year, there is no record to be reviewed.

Join LCC for the Hill Country Corvette Days, which consists of 3 car shows, 2 rallyes, and 1 funkhana over two days. The committee is ensuring that we are not in the heat of the day and we do have air conditioning at all locations of the event. On Saturday, August 14, there will be one judged show (Wash and Show) per National Council of Corvette Clubs’ (NCCC) rules, one people’s choice car show, and one poker rallye near sunset. The rallye ends at Save the World Brewery where there will we will hand out awards for Saturday. We will also have a Top Competitor trophy for the weekend plus other special awards given out. LCC thanks San Jacinto Corvette Club (SJCC) to allow us to host these events for them.

Event Website: www.longhorncorvette.com Calendar Page.

Event Co-Coordinators:
Kelley Knight Heins, 512-284-4754 or activities@longhorncorvette.com
John Tiemann, 512-658-4619 or governor@longhorncorvette.com

Judges: To ensure impartiality on the judged show, it team of judges will have someone from a classic, restoration, or antique car club and a NCCC  member.

Car Show Categories: We have a category for every type of vehicle. All vehicles must move under their own power for the car shows. We are a Corvette Club so we have more Vette categories.

Wash and Show Car Show: is for those who drive their cars regularly and wish to participate in the Concours, but do not have the interest or time to detail the car to the same standards as the "show cars". Cars in the "Wash & Show" class are not required to open their hood as part of the Concours. Please note that after the driver’s meeting, you will not be allowed to polish or clean your vehicle until after it is judged.  The judges may ask that you open the doors, etc.

People’s Choice Car Show: Participants and attendees will be given ballots and walk around the entrants to pick their favorites in each categories.  Your dash placard will indicate what category you are in. You will receive one dash placard for Saturday and one dash placard for Sunday.  You can participate in both shows at the same time on Saturday.

Funkhana:  Each team, composed of a driver and navigator, must complete tasks — often centered around a theme — that involve teamwork and a sense of humor. You will not be using your vehicle. We will have a vehicle that you start and stop the event.  The rest of the funkhana will be in air conditioning.

Rallyes: Cars must be street legal including valid insurance and current registration. There will be a tech inspection. See the Rallye Tech Sheet by clicking here:
https://www.corvettesnccc.org/Handbook/NCCCRulebook_2020-2021.html

Gimmick Rallye: is one in which the Rallyemaster presents route instructions and questions that the alert Rallyists must follow and answer along the Rallye route. The Rallyists can be required to test out their navigational abilities and match their wit and skill with the Rallyemaster. Answers to questions may be found on either side of the road. This Rallye is scored by following instructions, providing correct answers and
being in by the pre-announced time given by the Rallyemaster in the "Generals" or at the Entrants Meeting.

Poker (Chance) Rallye: Chance Rallies are fun Rallies. The usual navigational demands are minimized, courses are relatively simple, average speeds are readily obtainable or unnecessary.  Several checkpoints are set up and, as each car pulls into the checkpoint, the DRIVER or NAVIGATOR draws the cards. The winner is the car which comes in within the specified time with the highest or lowest, as identified at the drivers meeting, poker hand assembled from the cards drawn

Awards: There will be Best in Class awards given for each class listed in the car show. We will award through 3rd place with a Class Award. You will receive the trophy at the show. We will send a detailed information label that you can place on the trophy. Besides the category awards, there may be special awards such as Best in Class, Kid’s Choice, the host sites favorite, etc. People’s Choice ballots will be given to all participants and attendees. Special ballots for children will be given out at Saturday’s People’s Choice show only. Rallyes awards given through 3rd place on each rallye. Funkhana awards given to first place and fastest time of day. If there are more than
10 cars in a car show/funkhana  category or rallyes: then we will follow the NCCC rules and issues awards accordingly.

Charities:  Saturday’s charity will be Texas Humane Heroes. Sunday’s charity will be Southwest Region NCCC Scholarship Fund. There may be 50/50 drawings, door prizes, and such as well.  A portion of your entry fee also goes to the charities as well.  We will also be giving a donation to the Hill Country Fellowship for the use of their facilities on Saturday. If you need documentation, please email treasurer@longhorncorvette.com.
